Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman is one of the most successful of the online poker players of all time. He has had a great deal of success in some of the biggest online tournaments there are. He has not really had the same success in live tournaments that he has had in online games but he also has very limited experience in these events, he may well still have success down the road.

Chris Moorman got his start in poker playing with friends while he was a student at Exeter University. He was a regular winner in their small games but he never really thought about a career in poker. However when he discovered online poker things changed. After winning a small amount in a free tournament he realized that he was pretty good compared to the vast majority of players so he started to take poker a lot more seriously.

In the beginning Chris Moorman would play in medium stakes cash games at the online poker sites. He was winning regularly but the amount of money that he was making was fairly modest. It did not take him long however to discover that he could make a lot more money if he won a tournament so he started entering them on a regular basis. This proved to be a good move as he soon started winning on a regular basis. These days he is known as something of a specialist in multi table tournaments which is where he has had his biggest successes.

The move into live games has happened in fits and starts to Chris Moorman as he has not really done all that well. Admittedly he has only played in a small number of tournaments so it is still way too early to tell just how good he is at live games. If he chooses to keep playing in them it is likely that he will develop into a pretty good live player. That being said given the huge success he has had and all of the money that he has made in online tournaments he may not have a lot of interest in playing in live tournaments.

One of the reasons that he may not have a lot of interest in live tournaments is that the element of luck plays a bigger role there than in online games. This is something he learned when he paid the entry fee for his father to play in a live tournament that Chris entered himself. Despite having almost no experience with poker his father won and pocketed more than a hundred thousand dollars, far more than Chris has ever been able to win playing in live tournaments. While happy for his dad of course it did tend to highlight one of the reasons that he prefers to play in online games.
